Professional Background

Mitwa Ng’ambi was appointed Group Chief People and Culture Officer of MTN Group with effect from 1 September 2026. She brings more than 15 years of leadership experience in Africa’s telecommunications sector, having worked across Zambia, Benin, Senegal, Ghana, Rwanda, Cameroon and Côte d’Ivoire.

Before assuming her current role, Mitwa served as Chief Executive Officer of MTN Côte d’Ivoire. She previously held Chief Executive Officer positions at MTN Cameroon, MTN Rwanda, AirtelTigo Ghana and Tigo Senegal.

Throughout her career, Mitwa has led successful business turnarounds, market repositioning, merger integrations, and digital-enabled organization transformation programmes across diverse and highly regulated markets.

Her extensive pan-African leadership experience, together with her strong track record in people leadership and organisational transformation, positions her well to lead MTN Group’s people and culture agenda

Qualifications

Mitwa holds a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Computer Science (Software Engineering) from the University of Eastern Finland (Joensuu).
