Professional Background:

Lwazi currently holds several non-executive roles, including Chairman of Zeda Limited and board memberships at Standard Bank Group, Valterra Platinum, Woolworths Holdings, and the Nelson Mandela Foundation.

Lwazi served as Chief Executive Officer of Deloitte Africa from June 2012 to May 2022, culminating in a 29-year tenure with the firm. He also served as a member of the Deloitte Global Executive Committee. During his leadership, he oversaw the integration of Deloitte’s operations across 15 countries into a unified Africa entity, championed initiatives that significantly advanced audit quality and growth of the business.

He is a former Chairman of the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants (SAICA), past President of the Association for the Advancement of Black Accountants in Southern Africa (ABASA) and former Chairman of the African Children Feeding Scheme (ACFS).

Lwazi also serves as a director on several Boards within the MTN Group.

Qualifications 

He holds a B.Com (Hons) degree from the University of KwaZulu-Natal, a B. Compt degree from the University of South Africa and completed the Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School. He is a qualified CA(SA).
