Professional Background: 

Ferdi Moolman is an experienced business leader with more than three decades in finance, telecommunications, and consulting across Africa, the Middle East, and Europe. He was appointed Chief Executive Officer of MTN South Africa effective 1 November 2025. Prior to this, he served as MTN Group Chief Risk Officer, which he has held since April 2021. 

Before that, Ferdi served as Chief Executive Officer of MTN Nigeria, where he played a pivotal role in strengthening the company’s market leadership and advancing its strategic priorities across one of MTN’s largest operations. His career at MTN includes leadership roles as General Manager for Financial Operations, Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer of MTN Irancell, and Chief Financial Officer of MTN Nigeria. 

Before joining MTN, Ferdi held senior positions at PricewaterhouseCoopers, Momentum Life, Europ Assistance, and the Auditor General’s Office of South Africa, gaining extensive experience in financial auditing, operations, and taxation. 

He also serves as a director on several MTN Group subsidiary Boards. 

Qualifications: 
Ferdi holds a BCom (Accounting) degree from the University of Pretoria, a BCompt (Honours) from the University of South Africa (UNISA), and is a Chartered Accountant (CA [SA]).
