Our supply chain and procurement teams at MTN are responsible for purchasing products and services for all of the countries that we operate in. This ranges from the infrastructure equipment used to power our networks to mobile content to make our customers' lives a whole lot brighter.
Our global MTN procurement strategy focuses on optimising our group purchasing ability to cater for all our individual operations in the Middle East and Africa. Our policy is to source and procure technically suitable quality products and services that meet the needs of MTN in the most cost-effective manner, and at the best overall value. We procure a wide range of products and services, which are segmented into three categories with some examples below:
Radio equipment, core and IN, passive infrastructure, power solutions, transmission, network software and hardware, cabling and connectivity, etc.
Mobile devices (handsets, dongles and routers) and accessories, SIM cards, scratch cards, media, digital content, mobile money service, professional services, BTL, etc.
Facilities management, travel services, logistics, etc.
Wherever technically permissible, we utilise our MTN e-sourcing platform, which allows our suppliers to access our negotiation and inquiry process.
